The Link Works, Training & Placement Services

The Link Works is part of the training division of Felix O’Hare & Co Ltd, a long established building firm in Newry, with a reputation for buildings of distinction. The Link Works itself was set up in 1988, providing Government funded programmes to school leavers and the unemployed in Newry & Mourne in order to improve their employment and career prospects. The Link Works is now well established and is proud to be a fully Northern Ireland owned and operated training firm.

The Link Works believes that, in the long run, quality training with quality placements is integral to successful training programmes and we have been at the forefront of providing learners with work placements in reputable firms and businesses in the Newry & Mourne area for over 20 years.

We are predominantly an employer led training organisation because we recognise the important role that employers have to play in the long term training & employment of learners. Many of the programmes are delivered on a day release basis to enable learners to acquire appropriate knowledge & skills in their chosen vocational area. Then, through the work placement, the learner can use & develop the skills they have acquired in a real working environment and hopefully start to build their career.

All the programmes that we run lead to the achievement of recognised qualifications. These are vocational qualifications and many come in the form of VRQs and NVQs.
